What is one thing that is very important to us about the wedding?
We are excited to welcome you to our wedding. We are so blessed to have a diverse group of family and friends who represent the full range of ethnic, racial, religious and gender identities, as well as sexual orientations. Especially in this time of polarization in our world, it is very important to us that our wedding be a welcoming and inclusive celebration characterized by respect for the dignity of all attendees. Thank you and we cannot wait for the celebration to begin!
What is the dress code for the wedding?
We request formal or semi-formal attire and we hope you look forward to dressing up! Please no jeans or casual attire. Also, keep in mind that October in Maryland might be cool once the sun goes down so you might want to be prepared according to your own comfort level. If you have questions about what to wear, feel free to reach out to us!
Will our wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Weather permitting, we will have our wedding ceremony outdoors. The cocktail hour and the dinner will be indoors. Bowling Brook Mansion also has an outdoor upstairs deck, as well as a tented patio that guests can use during the cocktail hour and after dinner. In the event of rain, we will move the ceremony indoors.
How will I get to the venue?
Round-trip coach bus transportation to Bowling Brook Mansion is provided. When you RSVP for the wedding, you will need to indicate if you intend to take the coach bus. The shuttle will depart NO LATER THAN 2:15pm from the Sheraton Baltimore North Hotel located in Towson, MD. It will take about 50 minutes each way.
If you are staying at another hotel, you may Uber or drive to the Sheraton to take the coach bus. Paid parking is available at the hotel.
If you'd prefer to drive to Bowling Brook Mansion, the address is 6000 Middleburg Road, Keymar, Maryland. There is no-cost parking available.
We hope you'll make the most comfortable and safe choice for yourself and others!
Where will I be staying?
We have reserved a block of hotel rooms at the Sheraton Baltimore North Hotel in Towson, MD but other hotels are also available. Please see the “Travel” page for more information.
May I bring my kids (or a plus one)?
We respectfully ask that attendance stay limited to those who have been indicated on your invitation.
What health and safety measures will be in place?
For your safety and the safety of all those attending, please do not attend if you are feeling sick, especially if your symptoms are consistent with the flu or COVID-19. Absolutely no weapons are allowed at the venue.
Am I allowed to take photos during the wedding ceremony?
We have hired an incredible photographer to take photos during the wedding ceremony. Please allow her to do so and refrain from taking your own photos during this time. Any other time, feel free to take photos and videos and please share the memories with us!
What refreshments will be available during the reception?
Our dinner at the wedding reception will be catered by The Carriage House Inn in Emmitsburg, Maryland. A full bar including cocktails, beer, wine and nonalcoholic beverages will all be available. Guests are asked not to bring alcohol and other drugs into the venue.
Do you have suggestions of what to do nearby?
Absolutely! Please see our "Things To Do" page where we've listed some of our favorite places. We also have included information about visiting Washington, DC, and Gettysburg, MD.
Will your ferrets Louis, Blueberry, Frankie and Freya, or your cats Samson and Lyra, be in attendance?
Although all of our pets begged us to go, they will not be in attendance but their presence will be felt especially at the pet-themed cocktail hour. We will let them know that they were missed by our guests.
